Hip Hop first appeared in France in 1979, but in 1982 France saw its first major Hip Hop concert, the New York City Rap Tour, sponsored by Europe 1 featuring Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmixer DST, the Rock Steady Crew and Fab 5 Freddy.

That same year, France would produce one of its biggest Hip Hop stars to date—DJ, Producer and pioneer Daniel "Dee Nasty" Bigeault, the Parisian father of Hip-Hop.  Discovering Hip-Hop in 1979, Dee began DJ-ing in 1981 and by 1987 he became internationally recognized at the World DMC Championships.

Sedgwick and Cedar’s Planet Rock Paris graphic pays homage to Dee Nasty and the movement of Hip Hop in France with this special design that features a hand-drawn flyer by Dee himself from one of his classic jams.
